When I heard our assessment theme - Holding Time, I think about the concept ‘being water’ first exists.

We see time in water. Time is variable and changeable, sometimes we think it flows slow and sometimes fast. While water drip through each vessel, it transforms into different forms. Rain to river, river to sea, sea to our bottle of water, we grow and learn from time. This collection presents different shapes of water, the variations of time in addition to the time being held in each vessel.

Time wait for no one, is unholdable, therefore I made the vessels without handle. As time passing, the rushing water never goes back.

However, if we look witty, we can hold the ceramics by their natural shapes, time and water actually never change. Ticking of clock sounds like dripping. Time travel as the water cycle. In this in mind, we should obey the flow of time, the natural faints. Instead of fighting against time, forcing yourself but be water which flavours all. Looking through Perspex, we can see everything and ourselves clearly, find the best way to manage your time.

Undoubtedly, we carry the unbearable weight of time, it might be a cup or a pool, but at the same time the dripping time is determined in our hand in the funnel, everything is decided by ourselves. Follow the nature of your heart and feel, cherish and live in the moment, and that is how we can hold the ‘time’.
